This panda tour is personally-designed for those who want to know more about pandas and their habitats. For our program,we discover Wanglang Panda Reserve where around 120 wild giant pandas are taken care of. Explore the eco-village of Baima People and Bifengxia Panda Reserve where Wolong's most of giant pandas inhabit due to the quake, as well as their remarkable beauty.We volunteer in Bifengxia Panda Reserve to help pandas shocked by the quake. In each place, we'll meet panda experts and the director of panda research center. We make sure you'll get more things behind-the-scene. In each place we use comfortable or the best availalbe accommodations and local restaurants we choose carefully to make sure all participants have a special experience.
Detailed Itinerary Day1 Arrive Chengdu, the bustling Queen city and the birth place of famous Sichuan food. Chengdu is also known as the City of Hibiscus because of its several parks and the wonderful flowers which grow even in the downtown area. You will be met by West China Adventures staff .Transfer to the hotel. Day2
This morning, we explore Chengdu Panda Eco-park and learn about pandas' breeding program accompanied by an excellent park guide after meeting a panda expert. Overnight in Chengdu Day3 On a scenic drive,Journey to Wanglang , a world-famous nature reserve for protection of wild giant pandas supported by WWF. Day4 With a naturalist , enjoy walking through the virgin forests with chances to see wildflowers, plants, some wild animals and photos. Learn about wild panda's habitat with secrets from a panda expert.After a picnic lunch head back to Chengdu. Day5 Depart for the newest Giant Panda Base located in Bifengxia. This is the only Reserve in the world to release Giant Pandas back into the wild. The Bifengxia Panda Base was originally established as a safeguard for the captive Panda population, as there was great concern regarding an outbreak of disease or infection. If an epidemic was to occur among the Pandas at the Wolong Center, it could destroy the entire population. Splitting the pandas into two separate populations will hopefully prevent this from ever occurring. Just before arriving Bifengxia we'll stop off to see Shangli, an old town which was covered by the Red Army in the Long March. Still now we can see original slogans written by the Red Army. Check into the hotel late afternoon. Day6 After breakfast we are met by the Director of the Panda Base and we are escorted on go a guided tour of the Bifengxia Panda Base. We have the heartwarming experience of meeting the Giant Pandas who are getting ready to be released back into the wild. After lunch, at our own leisure we get to explore the large, naturalistic Reserve, as we go in search of Giant Pandas who are sleeping peacefully high up in the tree tops. Wonderful photo opportunities. Days7-9 Go right away to help giant pandas working as a Volunteer with the assistance of Panda keeper , with a life-time experience. Overnight in Bifengxia
Head for Huanglongxi,an old town known as Chengdu's Hollywood.Many movies have used it as their backround. See old residences constructed in the Ming and Qing Dynasties along the slab-paved streets. On the walking tour , observe the daily life of local people. Cruise Luxi River with nice rural views. For our shore excursion , explore old buddhist temple and photograph a 1000-year-old cypress. As an option, cycling tour of the countryside with nice rural views. Day 11 Departue.Tour ends.
