Giant pandas, China's national animal(national treasure), are a symbol of peace and friendship. They are one of favourite animals of people in the wolrd. So far,there are around 1,600 pandas all over the world. Most of pandas live in Sichuan Province, hence the name, panda country. At present, there are four natural habitats for pandas in Sichuan. The most famous is Wolong-Bifengxia Base , where China Wolong Conservation & Research Center for Giant Pandas is. In recent years,panda research staff have done lots of work for protection of pandas , and they've made great success in breeding . Currently, over 100 pandas were born in Wolong. Due to the quake, the most part of Wolong Base was damaged. A new place for Wolong Panda Base is being built , it can be completed in 2--3 years. Now pandas have been moved to Bifengxia Base.West China Adventures, with excellent friendship between Wolong and Bifengxia, has designed a volunteer program helping panda research center. Volunteers can have opportunities cleaning panda's enclosures, feeding , even cutting bamboo, under instructions of panda keepers and experts.
